Thank God

We finally had word from my son that he is ok. He had e-mailed his wife and told her that he was ok, and that if we heard anything on the news, that he was ok. Then they(uncle sam) cut communications. (Bless their black hearts) I know it is for everyones safety, but they don't understand a Mother's heart. When official work came, we found out that they had had a small arms attack outside the base. My son and his men were ok, but they lost one of the guys in their unit. That is when we really freaked. Sunday (almost a week after the e-mail) we found out that he is truly ok, and very busy trying to get everything shipped out to the states. I know this sounds like overreaction on our part. We have been able to e-mail and talk to him this whole time. Then they have an attack, cut communications, and left us with a big question in out head. (IS HE TRULY OK, OR DID THEY GET HIT AFTER THE E-MAIL AGAIN?) I would not wish this terror on anyone. I pray each night for the safety of all out men and women fighting for out freedom and the future of out children and grandchildren. So ladies and gentleman, hug your babies just a little harder tonight and thank God and the men and women of out Armed Forces for all our freedom.

My Son is Coming Home

Hurrah! My son is finally coming home from Iraq. We have waited almost 7 months for this. I have been keeping his wife company while he has been gone, and we have become very close. My daughter moved here, close by, so all of our family support was here. I have had a chance to really know my daughter-in-law, and my son-in-law. During this time I have been able to re-connect with my daughter, and finally get to know my grandsons. Even though I miss my sisters, brothers, and their families, I am happy and content here. I cannot see myself being any where else. I have come home. It is true, home is where the heart is. My heart is here.

Cass Eliott

Just did some research of my own. I am sorry I was wrong. Cass Elliott died in 1974. Which means that the song "Monday, Monday had to have been sung by their group in the late 60"s or early 70"s. No matter, it is a great song and she was a great singer. May heaven always hear your lovely voice, Cass Elliott.

"Monday, Monday"

This is a title of a song sung in the 80's by a group called "The Mama's and The Papa's". I am sure most of you do not know who they are or their beautiful "flower child" song. The main singer of the group, in my opinion, was a lady named "Mama Cass" or Cass Elliott. You could blog the group or her and find out some pretty interesting facts about her and the group. And probably hear the song that runs through my head EVERY Monday morning that passes over me. I have had my 59th birthday, (on April 10th) and I have survived another year. I feel pretty good about myself. My son will be home soon from Iraq. We are counting down the days. Bella is in rare form today. Always jumping (playfully) on everyone and everything that moves. Her life is filled with exploring and greeting, and playing all day long. Sometimes the other dogs act like they would love to hide from her just to get some rest. We won't even mention the cat. This is a cat that does not like to play. She has some age on her, and tolerates dogs, only because she has to. Being disabled, because of a missing leg, only slows her down when she wants to get somewhere fast, or fend of dog advances. She does a pretty goood job at that even still. But the older dogs, clean her and chew off her whiskers. Not sure why they chew off her whiskers, but it seems important to them. Bella on the other hand, wants to make her play with her. Just now she is playing with the older female dog. They will play for a few minutes and then war will erupt because Bella won't stop. Guess I better go break them up. Have a glorious day and stop back by. Leave me a comment. I love being connected to a lot of people.

FRICKIN RAIN

Well looks like another rainy day here It has rained for about 6 or 7 days here. We have had a few moments of sunshine, but not much. I was checking out the garage to see if there was enough wood, and float able devices to make a mini-ark this morning. Had a terrible storm here last night. But is has stopped for now, but I just heard thunder, or the firing range at the base one. Sometimes its hard to tell which one it is. Was sitting her deciding who we needed to make room for on our raft, and if they possibly had materials to make it bigger at their house. By the time I counted all the people, dogs, cats, computers, cell phones and food I figured out we would need a huge ocean liner. Computers and cell phones are a must, right? Can we really live with out them? Makes one wonder. We are so attached to out communication tools that when we are without them, we almost panic. My son, Michael is away from home right now and we have not heard from him in a few days. We are trying not to worry, but its hard. He usually calls, e-mails, or finds some way to let us know he is OK. If we were not able to talk to him or read his e-mails this few days of silence would probably not disturb us as much. Feast usually goes unnoticed till it's gone. You know the old saying "It's either feast or famine." I am cooking a roast for the family meal tonight. It smell so good. I am ready to eat it now, but I am afraid it would be a little on the rare side right now. Prayers and good wishes to all, and we could use the same.

Introduction to Bella

Bella is a 2 year old dog. My name is Mama to her, and Grandma to the other dogs in our family. We live with my son and his wife, their two dogs, and a three legged cat. I will explain more about that later. I have had Miss Bella for two years now. My son and his wife got her for me because I had lost my other dog in a freak accident. She is the love of my life and she helped mend my broken heart. I will post a picture when I figure out how...More later
